An Unconventional West Iceland Private Elopement with a Black Wedding Dress
An Unconventional West Iceland Private Elopement with a Black Wedding Dress
by a Local Iceland Elopement Photographer & Planner
Planning a private Iceland elopement in West Iceland during the summer is so dreamy.
Here’s what we did to plan H&D’s most perfect Iceland elopement with seclusion, privacy, and even Icelandic horses.
At first, H&D knew that they wanted elope in Iceland to see new places, feel secluded, and make sure their wedding day felt special. They are both unconventional people and knew they wanted the time and space to be within nature, say their vows in an environment where there is no pressure and that’s equally as beautiful. However, they were finding some difficulty in making it all happen to the vision they had, and that’s where we made our magic, together.
I love when couples have the idea and the feeling they want for their Iceland elopement, that allows me to help shape this vision into the realities of Iceland locations, seasons, timing, and avoiding unnecessary risks.
They were struggling with finding the right Iceland elopement photographer that they vibed with, that has a style they liked, and can either do all of the things they needed, or at the very least knows the people to contact to do so for their Iceland elopement planning. Thankfully, we found each other where I helped with them everything and they liked my style. Double win.
Like most couples who start to embark on an Iceland elopement, they were in the early stages of planning their wedding abroad:
They had their preferred Iceland elopement timing they would like, but were waiting on the right photographers’ availability to lock in the exact date.
They had committed to eloping in Iceland 100%.
They knew they wanted to wear black wedding attire, but no dress yet.
They knew they wanted to spend a decent amonut of time in Iceland to go right to a honeymoon after the elopement.
Once we became official partners for their Iceland elopement day, that’s when the rest of the pieces fell nicely into place.
We planned, piece by custom piece, together for their Iceland elopement dreams starting with what locations would fit their vibe perfectly and Snæfellsnes was the winner. Followed by every tiny detail needed for the day to happen flawlessly.
H&D’s most perfect day they wanted:
to wake up and have some breakfast (which they had some lovely coffee waiting for me when I arrived at their adorable Snæfellsnes cabin that morning),
H finished her hair & makeup with one of my vetted & preferred Iceland elopement vendors while I started taking the candid photos,
and they got dressed together with her dramatic(ly) epic black wedding dress.
Then, we left their super cute Snæfellsnes cabin and headed out for the Iceland elopement adventure.
The rest of the day consisted of private vows on black sea cliffs, an appearance by a few Icelandic horses, waterfalls we had all by ourselves, and pure secluded joy as they became a married couple.
