Eloping in Iceland is a complete dream for couples fearlessly in love who come from all over the world. I love being an Iceland elopement photographer and being able to take the couple on an adventure that will change their lives from there on out. I spend a whole lot of time in Iceland adventuring myself where I can location scout for JUST the right locations to match the couple and what they envision for their day. The location for this shoot is quite special to me and I had been DYING to shoot two brides, specifically, at this location.

We went to the base of the volcano, Hekla, in Iceland. Hekla is a rare volcano, she will erupt with no warning, unlike other volcanos. She is seen as very powerful and one of the few female named volcanos on the island, but she is named after a women because of her power. I wanted to shoot two brides here because of that, because both Hekla and all women are so powerful. Just as powerful as that Icelandic wind.

This shoot was a styled Elopement session for a local dress designer in ReykjavΓk,  BrΓΊΓ°arkjΓ³lar - EyrΓΊn Birna . We had two gowns custom made by her and our flowers made by a local florist, ÞórdΓs ZophΓa who put in Icelandic flowers and created one to symbolize lava flow. My two brides for the day, BertmarΓ Ýr BergmannsdΓ³ttir and Victoria HeiΓ°ur BarthΓ©lΓ©my, adventured with me all day as I took us to some epic locations where we survived the wind in one piece.
