Iceland Summer Elopement in Snæfellsnes with Game of Thrones Inspired Styling

D&S came to Iceland to elope on their own terms and to enjoy each other, undistracted. They knew they wanted an elopement and Iceland was the perfect fit for their personalities.

Planning this Iceland elopement was a double bonus for me because D is a fellow roller derby skater / friend of mine.

To plan this day, we had some physical accessibility conditions to fit in, which I personally love helping with. Iceland can seem unattainable for people with physical differences, however, if you know what you need and have a local to help, there are so many differing types of locations to go to that fit your needs.

For this Iceland elopement, we started out with a very brief ‘‘getting ready’’ part of the day as those photos are not very important to the couple. And that’s the beauty of having a custom-fit Iceland elopement, we can build the day to be exactly what you want. There are no real rules for eloping in Iceland other than to be kind to nature, to each other, say some sappy and beautiful vows, and have fun.

After a quick First Look, and avoiding the dive-bombing Kría birds, we took of on our photography adventure around Snæfellsnes with two Game of Thrones looking capes for extra wow.

We had a rather quick time-frame for the day, so I made sure to plan as many different location varieties as possible while keeping in mind the necessary terrain needed. D brought two capes, which, I must say is amazing. Capes look totally badass for an Iceland elopement and fit the backdrops perfectly. It’s always so much fun having people I know in real life come all the way to Iceland to have me plan and photograph their elopement day. Always a double bonus having familiar faces and an excuse to adventure. Here’s to D&S and their newfound married life.
