Seriously though, what could be more freakin’ romantic than an Iceland Vow Renewal?!

Jen and Owen’s South Iceland Vow Renewal was freakin’ off the hook heart bursting. These two literally drip love (and maybe a little water from the Skógafoss waterfall 😅) and, even though I have seen hundreds of couples in love as an Iceland elopement photographer, some of them just stick with me. Like these two. There were so many moments of laughter, tears, and those in-between “gah” moments that made me feel so privileged (and mushy) to share their vow renewal in Iceland with them.

Part of the fun of being a wedding photographer here in Iceland is that my clients always choose an eclectic mix of wedding outfits, so I’m always surprised and pleased by the diversity and imagination they put into their wedding day details. I also love how the ladies always seem to incorporate stylish yet warm bits and pieces into their wardrobes.

Of course, it was Iceland, in the middle of winter, so it was a “tad” chilly out, but Jen STILL chose to rock a gorgeous white pantsuit and sparkly cowboy boots.

If I hadn’t loved her before we started shooting, that outfit and Jen’s intense LOVE OF HER CATS grew my grinchy ole heart by three sizes. Talk about a knockout! And Owen agreed—it’s written all over his face in the images.

Rad Places to Renew Vows in Iceland

While I spend the majority of my time photographing elopements, I’ve done quite a few vow renewals in Iceland too and, like Iceland elopements, I never get tired of the plethora of places in Iceland to choose from.

Jen and Owen chose the South Coast of Iceland for their vow renewal—particularly Skógafoss and the Yoda Cave—two faves of my clients. While the Yoda cave used to be one of Iceland’s best kept secrets, the good ole interwebs has let the secret out and, since so many of my clients LOVE the significance of it, I’ve embraced it as one of my fave places to pop by during a shoot too.

We had such a rad time traipsing around the countryside, stopping at all the little out-of-the-way scenic places I know so well from being an Iceland local, and we were able to grab some epic shots of the day, in all kinds of typical winter Iceland weather.
