Holy smokes, I am still a bit choked up when I think about this romantic wedding at City Winery in NYC.

This wedding was wonderful, from start to finish. I feel truly honored that I was chosen to document their love from engagement session, to rehearsal dinner, to their wedding at City Winery. K + S had the most thoughtful, heart warming wedding one could possibly have. Every little detail that they put into their wedding was to show their love for their friends and family and to give thanks to their parents. I honestly cried behind my camera a few times throughout the day as it was just SO touching.

K is a broadway performer and put all of that energy into the day, from the planning to little surprises she had in store at the reception. Her heart is huge and she gives as much love as she can. When I showed up to her room at SIXTY SoHo Hotel, her and a few of her close friends were getting ready in the spectacular suite. It was laid back, the vibes were positive, and everyone was chatting and laughing. I got started on covering all of her details she was going to be wearing for the wedding, which is usually the first thing I start with. I like to do this to get it out of the way so when they are ready to get dressed they aren't waiting on me. My second Photographer, Max, started with S at another location before coming to meet me with the guys in tow. K finished getting ready and put on her wedding dress, which she would later change out of in order to preserve the surprise to her guests who she would see pre-ceremony. Her dress was hands down one of the coolest wedding dresses I have ever seen and fit her impeccably. We headed to the First Look up on the roof, braved the wild wind for a few minutes while K + S saw each other for the first time, and then headed back inside. K changed into her other dress which was equally as stunning and fun for me to shoot!

We got to City Winery and K helped with the final touches of setting everything up. She had a floor plan ready and you can tell her experience in the broadway and film world took over. After taking some formal photos and the guests started arriving, the ceremony was on. It was touching and brilliant, with so many kind words from the officiant, who is also a Judge! The ceremony ended after a lot of laughs and quite a few tears, then it was on to the reception.

The reception was SO special. K + S had a band playing the entire night and they were AMAZING. K had organized a surprise song for both sets of their parents where her Broadway friends got on stage and sang the most glorious, wonderful, song to them. I teared up, it was absolutely beautiful. The rest of the night was a lot of dancing and partying. K had mentioned after the wedding that she felt like she was hanging out with an old friend all day with having me document their day, and I could not agree more. I was welcomed with open arms into both of their families and into the most intimate day in their lives, and for that I will forever be thankful.
